When the correct maintenance dosage is determined you could be free of symptoms in a few months. But, you may have to take the pills the rest of your life.
Diet plays a significant role in maintaining a healthy thyroid. Understanding that there are foods that support the thyroid and there are those that are damaging to the thyroid is a good place to start.
